The notorious pranksters have struck again
Tool Shared 37 Minutes of Cricket Sounds for April Fool's Day
Back in 2015, Tool pulled an April Fool's prank on their devoted listeners with a "leak " of a new song. Now, fans have been had once again despite the expectation of a new album arriving this year.

At the stroke of midnight this morning, Tool fans thought the band had shared a clip of new material through Twitter upon getting a notification of a new post. However, it turned out to be 37 minutes of crickets chirping. Taking into account the numerous times they had been trolled before, fan response to the band's joke was predictable. After getting deservedly grilled online for the bulk of the day, the band and frontman Maynard James Keenan shared responses of their own on Twitter, which you can find below. Tool's forthcoming new album has yet to receive a concrete release date, though Keenan said to expect the effort to arrive "between mid May and mid July" earlier this year. Last month, group members were photographed in-studio with engineer Bob Ludwig, leading many to speculate that the album was nearly finished being mastered.
