Michael Kiwanuka Wins 2020 Mercury Prize
Following a reveal of the nominees back in July, Michael Kiwanuka has won the 2020 Mercury Prize.

The English singer-songwriter was awarded the prize for his third studio album Kiwanuka, which arrived last year. Exclaim! named Kiwanuka one of the 10 Best Soul Albums of 2019 and interviewed the artist about the album upon its release.

Kiwanuka's competition included Charli XCX's how i'm feeling now, Dua Lipa's Future Nostalgia, Kano's Hoodies All Summer, Laura Marling's Song for Our Daughter, Moses Boyd's Dark Matter and Stormzy's Heavy Is the Head, among others.

As in years past, the 12 shortlisted albums were selected by an independent panel of judges, made up of writers, broadcasters and musicians.

Find the full list of 2020 nominees below. Last year's prize went to Dave for his album Psychodrama.
